He earned his PhD from the University of Hamburg and his MA from Bielefeld University. His first book, Soziale Klima-Nischen. Eine historische Soziologie naturwissenschaftlicher Gesellschaftsbeschreibung (Velbrück, 2025), looks at how society became an object of inquiry within the climate sciences and how climatological theories of society have evolved since the mid-19th century. More recently, his research has focused on organized expertise and the conditions under which expert knowledge is produced, coordinated, and circulated.

At KWI, he is developing a new research project on world problems. The project will investigate the emergence and trajectories of world problems. It will examine how actors across different social worlds, including science and the mass media, identify issues and elevate them to matters of global concern. Particular attention will be paid to the practices through which actors establish and disentangle relations among world problems by delineating overlaps, interdependencies, hierarchies, and rivalries. Overall, the project aims to contribute to a better understanding of processes of world societalization.

[277
post-20688","person","type-person","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","person_category-forschende
["GET
