Prof. Dr. Bruce Cohen<\/a> (University of Auckland) besichtigten zun\u00e4chst die Universit\u00e4t Siegen und das Kulturwissenschaftliche Institut Essen, bevor sie mit dem inhaltlichen Austausch begannen. In Siegen wurde ein Kontakt zur neuen <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uni-siegen.de\/lwf\/start\/dekanat\/?lang=de\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fakult\u00e4t 5<\/a> hergestellt, dessen Gr\u00fcndungsdekan Prof. Dr. Christoph Str\u00fcnck sich ebenso interessiert wie erfreut \u00fcber die neue Kooperation zeigte. In Essen wurde am gemeinsamen ersten Sammelband gearbeitet, der 2025 erscheinen soll, sowie Pl\u00e4ne \u00fcber die Einwerbung von Forschungsgeldern f\u00fcr die kommenden Jahre besprochen. Eine institutions\u00fcbergreifende internationale soziologische Konferenz wird ebenfalls angedacht.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Meeting of the &#8220;Health and Addiction&#8221; working group in Siegen and Essen <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Founded in Auckland, New Zealand, in February 2023, the &#8220;Health and Addiction&#8221; working group met for the first time in Germany in early September. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kulturwissenschaften.de\/person\/prof-em-dr-jo-reichertz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Prof. Dr. Jo Reichertz<\/a> (Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities Essen), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uni-siegen.de\/phil\/sozialwissenschaften\/politik\/mitarbeiter\/harbusch_martin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dr. Martin Harbusch<\/a> (University of Siegen) and <a href=\"https:\/\/profiles.auckland.ac.nz\/b-cohen\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bruce Cohen<\/a> (University of Auckland) visited both the University of Siegen and the Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities Essen to meet with research staff and work together on some forthcoming projects. In Siegen, contact was established with the new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uni-siegen.de\/lwf\/start\/dekanat\/?lang=de\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Faculty 5<\/a>, whose founding Dean, Prof. Dr. Christoph Str\u00fcnck, was highly enthusiastic about the new research partnership. In Essen, strategic work was carried out towards the establishment of a first joint volume (an edited collection on the social construction of \u2018addiction\u2019, with contributors from the US, Canada, England, Germany, Sweden, and New Zealand) and plans were discussed regarding the acquisition of research funding for the next few years.
