The Invention of the Modern Passenger<\/a>” on the subway passenger culture of New York City by our Mercator Research Fellow Stefan H\u00f6hne<\/a>. As part of the MIT Press “Infrastructures” series<\/a>, it complements traditional infrastructure studies. The book is an English translation of “New York City Subway: Die Erfindung des urbanen Passagiers<\/a>” (B\u00f6hlau Verlag, 2017), awarded with the “Forschungspreis der Gesellschaft f\u00fcr Stadtgeschichte und Urbanisierungsforschung (gsu)<\/a>” and the “\u00dcbersetzungspreis Geisteswissenschaften International des B\u00f6rsenvereins des Deutschen Buchhandels”.<\/a><\/p>\n
