Die kulturwissenschaftliche Forschung seit dem Spatial Turn hat die Wechselbeziehung zwischen Kultur und Raum in den unterschiedlichsten Konstellationen untersucht. Dabei standen h\u00e4ufig makroskopische R\u00e4ume im Mittelpunkt des Interesses \u2013 das Konzept einer globalen Welt, die Unterscheidung zwischen \u201aWest\u2018 und \u201aOst\u2018 oder zwischen dem globalen Norden und S\u00fcden, die Kartierung gro\u00dfer R\u00e4ume, die sozialen Auswirkungen globaler Transport- und Kommunikationsmittel usw.<\/p>\n
Der Workshop soll diese makroskopische Perspektive um einen dezidiert mikroskopischen Blickwinkel erg\u00e4nzen. Im Mittelpunkt steht eine bestimmte Art von R\u00e4umen, die sich als Mikrotopoi<\/em> bezeichnen lassen. Damit sind kleine R\u00e4ume gemeint, die nur zu bestimmten Zeiten betreten und verlassen werden k\u00f6nnen. Als \u201aklein\u2018 soll nach der Arbeitsdefinition ein Raum gelten, der ein Interaktionssystem etabliert. In Mikrotopoi zwingt also die blo\u00dfe Ko-Pr\u00e4senz von K\u00f6rpern zur Kommunikation, und daher gilt dort immer Paul Watzlawicks Diktum, dass man nicht nicht<\/em> kommunizieren kann.<\/p>\n Research in cultural studies since the spatial turn has examined the interrelationship between culture and space in a wide variety of constellations. In doing so, macroscopic spaces have often been the focus of interest \u2013 the concept of a global world, the distinction between \u2018West\u2019 and \u2018East\u2019 or between the global North and South, the mapping of large spaces, the social impact of global means of transportation and communication, etc.<\/p>\n The workshop aims to complement this macroscopic perspective with a decidedly microscopic one. The focus will be on a particular type of spaces referred to as microtopoi<\/em>. Microtopoi are small spaces that can only be entered and exited at certain times. According to the working definition, a space will be considered \u2018small\u2019 if it establishes an interaction system.
