Building on the theories of miniature objects developed by Susan Stewart and others, this works examines the use and interpretation\u00a0netsuke at the Museum Folkwang across three recent exhibitions.\u00a0In this work\u00a0I demonstrate how the\u00a0interpretation and size\u00a0of these objects highlights the role of miniature objects as symbols encouraged visitors to decode the meaning of these objects.<\/p>\n
