Eine andere Geschichte der Deutschen"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8216;The New We&#8217; is a history of migration to post-1945 Germany West and East, told through life stories of individuals who stand in for larger groups and their \u2018waves\u2019. The book is several things at once: engag\u00e9, leftist narrative history targeted at a broad audience; intervention in the post-Syrian \u2018refugee crisis\u2019 migration debate; a reconceptualization of German civic nationhood. It is organised chronologically around the arrival of the major immigrant groups into eight chapters and two short sections on 1945 and 1989 respectively.<\/p>\n<p><em>Jan Plamper, Das neue Wir. Fischer 2019, engl.: The New We: A History of Multicultural Germany since 1945 (tentative title), in preparation.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>\u00dcBER DIE KWI SACHBUCH-DISKUSSION:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Die Lesegruppe \u201eKWI Sachbuch-Diskussion\u201c, die im April 2019 entstanden ist, trifft sich, um gleicherma\u00dfen popul\u00e4re wie anspruchsvolle B\u00fccher an der Schnittstelle von Fachbuch und Sachbuch aus dem Bereich der Kultur-, Sozial- und Geschichtswissenschaften zu diskutieren. Neben inhaltlichen stehen vor allem formale und stilistische Aspekte im Zentrum der Diskussion.
