It then discusses the potential and implications of such proposed definition.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.soi.unitn.it\/staff\/massimiano-bucchi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Massimiano Bucchi<\/a><strong>,<\/strong>\u00a0Professor of Science and Technology in Society and Director of Master SCICOMM, University of Trento, has been visiting professor in Asia, Europe, North America and Oceania. He is the author of several books (published in more than 20 countries) and papers in journals such as\u00a0<em>Nature,<\/em>\u00a0<em>Science\u00a0<\/em>and<em>\u00a0PLOS<\/em>. Among his books in English:\u00a0<em>Science and the Media\u00a0<\/em>(Routledge, 1998);\u00a0<em>Science in Society\u00a0<\/em>(Routledge, 2004);\u00a0<em>Beyond Technocracy\u00a0<\/em>(Springer, 2009)<em>; Handbook of Public Communication of Science and Technology\u00a0<\/em>(new ed. 2021, with B. Trench, Routledge). From 2016 to 2019 he was editor-in-chief of the international journal\u00a0<em>Public Understanding of Science<\/em>.
