CfA: Join the 13th Cohort of our KWI International Fellowships Programme

Are you an early- to mid-career researcher in the humanities, cultural studies, or social sciences looking for a research opportunity? The KWI Fellowship Programme invites outstanding scholars to spend six months fully immersed in their next scientific project.

We are now accepting applications for our 13th cohort of fellowships, running from 1 October 2026 to 27 March 2027—open to researchers who have completed their PhD and possess up to six years of postdoctoral experience. Your project should resonate with KWI’s current research agenda—i.e. science studies, visual literacy, aesthetic practices, constellations of historical impact, and dialogues between the cultural and social sciences.

This fully funded fellowship is open to outstanding international applicants from around the world. While German nationals are welcome to apply, they must be currently employed at an international research institution to be eligible. Fellows gain access to modern research infrastructure, office space, technical and administrative support, a library service, event and research management, as well as communicative support.

Please find the full call here.

Applications are due by 28 February 2026.
