About the workshop “Spaces, Technologies and Knowledge in the Age of Planetary Health”:

This workshop examines the interconnectedness of health, space, medicine, healing, and the human body within the context of global ecological crises. Hosted by LeipzigLab’s Global Health group, the event aims to reflect on the evolving shift from traditional Global Health frameworks towards a broader and more integrated concept of Planetary Health. It critically analyzes the impact of technological advancements and diverse knowledge systems on health practices, while critically addressing the colonial and technocratic underpinnings of current health paradigms. This workshop also marks a celebratory conclusion to five years of collaborative work within our Global Health group. We look forward to welcoming our colleagues from the social sciences and humanities to engage in discussions on these core themes that have shaped our research projects throughout the past years.
